The Company
FAST was established 1999 as FAST TV SERVER AG and changed its name 2007 to FAST LTA for Long Term Archiving. The company is held by the founders and key employees and is backed by a group of private investors. The Management and the team benefit from know-how and experience gained in the 20 year history of FAST companies specialising in the areas of cryptography as well as editing, compression and storage of video. Most recently the team developed personal video recorders and timeshift TV solutions. FAST LTA AG is headed by founder Matthias Zahn.
The Team
CEO Reiner Bielmeier and founder Matthias Zahn has managed to gather a core team of knowledgable hardware and software engineers with many years of experience in managing complex projects and bringing fail-safe products to market.
Physicist Matthias Zahn founded FAST LTA AG in 1999. The Munich based company is his third venture. Matthias Zahn started the series in 1985 with FAST Software Security, specializing in software security and copy protection. FAST Multimedia AG brought to market innovative consumer and video editing systems. From this time stems his partnership with CTO Ali Adelstein, who ran FAST Multimedia’s software R&D team. Ali Adelstein continued the work with his team after FAST Multimedia was sold in 2001 to Pinnacle Inc. (later AVID Inc.) until he re-joined the FAST team in 2005.
Both previous FAST companies (Security and Multimedia) were sold to International public companies.
Products
FAST LTA AG focuses on developing and marketing technology and products for the secure long-term storage of digital data. For this FAST deploys software and hardware of its patent-pending WORM controller. FAST LTA currently offers hosted storage and managed storage systems based on its patent pending WORM technology.

Aladdin Knowledge Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALDN) is the worldwide leader in Software Digital Rights Management and USB-based authentication. FAST recommends and uses Aladdin’s eToken for access and password management applications.
NFQ provides FAST with online marketing tools and set up the Gigabank online shop.
FAST co-operates with Swisscom AG and uses their data centres. Based on the storage systems hosted there FAST offers a service named Gigabank for consumers wishing to safeguard personal data.
