Each Silent Cube storage unit comprises 12 hard disks from three different manufacturers. Even should four hard disks fail at the same time, no data will ever be lost. Data sealing against changes, deletions or overwriting is incorporated into the hardware and can therefore never be circumvented. Silent Cubes regularly checks the recorded data automatically (internal Digital Audit).

A storage unit features 12 low-power hard disks, 4 each from 3 different vendors. Together with the 4-fold redundancy, your data is effectively protected against epidemic disk failure.
As opposed to RAID systems, the unique Digital Audit regularly checks all written data on a bit-by-bit level, detecting hard disk failures and pending data loss at an early stage. Defective hard disks are completely shut down.
Each head unit can handle up to 128 storage units with 8 TB capacity each. Due to the virtual storage grid concept, expansion is possible at every time, letting the system grow with your needs.
With half rack width and 6 U height, the storage unit can easily be mounted into a 19 inch rack. The compact vertical housing minimizes the need for active external cooling.
