The modular Silent Cubes consist of a head unit and a storage unit, meaning that capacity can be expanded at any time and the computing component can be adapted to meet growing demands. You can use the Silent Cubes software to configure volumes and shares, retention periods and monitoring. No attacker, no administrator, no bot can change this. The 12 hard drives in each Silent Cube DS are linked via 12/8 erasure coding, thereby protecting against data loss due to failure. Up to four drives can fail simultaneously without any data being lost. The Digital Audit is firmly embedded in the device and automatically checks all written data at bit level on a regular basis. No. All Silent Cubes can still be used and can be supplemented with new Silent Cube DS (Pro) units when expanding the system. #### Can you connect more than one Silent Cube (DS) (Pro) to a Head Unit (Pro)? Can you mix Silent Cubes (DS) and Silent Cubes DS Pro in a single installation? Yes. If you want to connect more than one Silent Cube (DS) (Pro) to a Head Unit (Pro), you will need a suitable switch. #### Can I connect Silent Cubes (DS) to the Head Unit Pro using 1G Ethernet? Yes, as the Head Unit Pro also has a 1G Ethernet port.
